CeMM is looking for an

Cafeteria Staff Member (m/f/d)

with a passion for baking 

Fulltime, 40 hours per week, maternity leave replacement 

In this position you will be part of the cafeteria team and report to the cafeteria manager. The CeMM cafeteria is an important meeting and communication place. Particular emphasis is placed on friendly interaction and a high level of service orientation, as well as a varied range of offerings. Lunch meals are purchased from external providers and refreshed in the cafeteria kitchen. Snacks, salads and desserts are freshly prepared on site.

Your role

  • Perform general kitchen duties, including washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients with precision and care.
  • Engage in the creation of high-quality snacks, homemade cakes, and desserts that meet our high standards of flavor and quality.
  • Assist with the distribution of up to 150 meal portions daily, contributing to efficient service during peak hours.
  • Take on dishwashing responsibilities, restocking, and polishing of utensils to maintain a high standard of kitchen readiness.
  • Carry out cleaning tasks and adhere to hygiene regulations to keep a pristine and organized workspace.
  • Prepare and serve specialty coffee and tea drinks, sell snacks and beverages, and occasionally assist with cash handling.
  • Support occasional in-house catering for events, including setup and food preparation.

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with professional kitchen experience and/or catering, with a hands-on mentality and who values working in an international working environment. This position offers family-friendly working hours. 

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is essential.
  • Excellent English language skills a must, good German skills an advantage
  • Strong commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction.
  • Team-oriented mindset with reliability and a meticulous approach to tasks.
  • Genuine interest in food preparation, especially in crafting snacks, salads, and baked goods.
  • Flexibility and resilience, especially during busy times.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with customers and working in a dynamic kitchen environment.
  • Positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of culinary work.

You should have the excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness required to succeed in an international environment, coupled with a service-oriented attitude.
